The pool collective is a group of young creatives
working in the field of photography and image design.

We facilitate collaborative experiences to emphasize the power of photography as a cultural and artistic medium.

We develop, critique, brainstorm, and exchange ideas.

Through collaborative workshops and feedback sessions, we develop together, and execute individually.

Workshops

We consist of photographers, visual creatives, and curators living and working in Switzerland, organizing workshops and activities to support young photographers on their free projects.

Past workshops have covered a broad range of topics including project research & development, fact-checking, artistic production, digital exhibition experimentation, and zine production.

Workshops have been hosted by Salvatore Vitale, Cristina Hillberg, Yann Gross, Zoopark Publishing, Marc Lee & Anna Konstantinova, Misha Bushkov & Olga Bushkova, Federico Clavarino, Marco de Mutiis, Nicolas Polli, Loredana Nemes, Anne Morgenstern, Danielle Ezzo, and Jana Romanova.

Exhibitions

Since 2021, the pool collective has exhibited the ‘work in progress’ format in two collaborative exhibitions.

The first iteration in October 2021 was by invitation as an add-on exhibition at the IPFO in Olten, Switzerland. Nine artists showed insights into their artistic process and allowed the audience to engage with the various project topics.

In September 2022, “work in progress ver. 2” presented even more artists and insights in a five-week exhibition in the OnCurating Project Space in Zürich, Switzerland. Fifteen artists were involved in the planning, producing, and presenting of their work. Panel discussions, feedback sessions, and artist talks brought new audiences and interested participants into the exhibition space.

Our exhibitions are the result of a year-long collaborative exchange, in which the group takes part in workshops, feedback sessions, and group discussions. The work in progress format allows us to involve the audience in the artistic process, while giving the process itself a mechanism to develop freely.

The online extensions of the work in progress exhibitions as well as virtual tours can be found below.
