How do you create photography that moves?

A journey through the processes of 15 Swiss photographers is shown by the pool collective in the OnCurating Project Space Zurich from August 26th to September 30th.

In "work in progress ver. 2", the second edition of the exhibition, visitors get an exclusive insight into the personal and mostly hidden process of creating a photo project in a multimedial and interactive way.

Various stages, from the development of a question, the research, artistic experiments, technical questions to the decision-making process in the image selection, are revealed. With the different themes and approaches, the collective shows the diversity of the photographic work process.

Sat/Sun 11-16h

OnCurating Project Space

The exhibition takes place in the centrally located OnCurating Project Space (www.oncurating-space.org) in Zurich's Kreis 5. OnCurating Project Space offers space for new formats between curating, contemporary art, activism, theory, performance and music. The art space facilitates critical discourse through innovative and experimental exhibition formats.

Curated by Anna Konstantinova

As in the first exhibition of "work in progress", the curator Anna Konstantinova accompanies the pool collective through the process of preparing the exhibition. Her focus is on contemporary photography, post photography, curating digital spaces and transforming art into digital formats. She has worked on "SITUATIONS" at the Fotomuseum Winterthur and is part of "The Photographer's Gallery and Fotomuseum Winterthur - Screen Walks" project. She completed the MAS program "Curating" at the Zurich University of the Arts. Since 2021 she is curator of the contemporary photography collection at Bank Vontobel and works as a freelance curator.

pool collective

The pool collective is a collective of young artists working in the field of photography and image design. Together they organize workshops, activities and exhibitions that connect photographers and support them in their work. The group is characterized by its intimate and respectful atmosphere, which allows valuable discussions about their own projects and current issues. Mutual inspiration and motivation are central.

We are always open to new participants. If you would like to join the pool, please email us at hello@poolcollective.ch.
